Innovative Hybrid Solar range offers guaranteed, year-round lighting, delivering over 75% energy savings
Leading exterior lighting solutions provider DW Windsor has launched a new line of Hybrid Solar lighting solutions designed to overcome the limitations of off-grid solar lighting while meeting the rising demand for environmentally responsible lighting in public and commercial spaces.
While solar power effectively reduces energy costs and carbon emissions, the UK’s unpredictable weather poses challenges for off-grid solar lighting. Limited daylight hours in winter and frequent cloudy days can make off-grid systems less reliable. Additionally, off-grid solar often provides lower light levels due to limitations in photovoltaic (PV) capacity. DW Windsor’s Hybrid Solar range tackles these issues by combining solar power with grid backup, ensuring dependable, year-round lighting performance and delivering higher light levels that support increased lighting classes, even during extended periods of low sunlight.
Hybrid Solar solves the challenges with the UK's changeable weather and long winter nights
The new range includes hybrid versions of DW Windsor’s Torino Sleeve and Torino Panel systems, compatible with a selection of DW Windsor luminaires, including the flagship Kirium Pro S lantern. Initially offered for metered supplies, these hybrid solutions offer a sustainable alternative to conventional power sources, delivering over 75% energy savings compared to cabled LED luminaires.
DW Windsor’s Hybrid Solar range incorporates the latest solar technology, featuring monocrystalline panels and high-capacity LiFePO4 batteries to maximise energy retention and longevity. Intelligent lighting controls optimise energy use, seamlessly switching between battery and grid power to ensure uninterrupted illumination.
At DW Windsor, we strive to create solutions that blend innovation with practicality. Our new Hybrid Solar range, including the Torino Sleeve and Panel systems, provides adaptable, reliable lighting that supports clients in reducing environmental impact without sacrificing performance.
